SOUTH LITTLETON HOLIDAY COTTAGES BOOKING CONDITIONS
Contract The contract for a short-term holiday rental shall be made between the visitor and South Littleton Holiday Cottages. The contract shall be entered into when South Littleton Holiday Cottages issues confirmation on receipt of the visitor’s deposit and will be subject to the following conditions. South Littleton Holiday Cottages reserves the right to refuse entry to the entire party, or to terminate the stay, without refund, if any of these conditions are not met.
Booking A 20% deposit is required upon booking and the balance will be due 4 weeks prior to arrival. If booking is within 4 weeks of arrival, then payment will be required in full at the time of booking.
Payment A deposit of 20% of the rental fee is required to confirm the booking. The balance must be paid 4 weeks prior to the visitor’s arrival. For bookings made less than one month prior to the visitor’s arrival, the rental must be paid in full. All payments shall be made to South Littleton Farm. Methods of payment are cheques drawn on a UK bank account made payable to South Littleton Farm, GBP traveller’s cheques, an International Money Order in GBP, direct bank transfer or PayPal. Where bank charges or currency conversion charges occur, these costs will be met by the Hirer in addition to the rental.
Cancellation Any cancellation made by the visitor for whatever reason should be in writing and addressed to Hazel Harris at South Littleton Holiday Cottages. On receipt of notice of cancellation, strenuous attempts will be made to re-let the cottage for the period of the booking. If the cottage is re-let for the whole period, all monies paid will be refunded less an administration charge of £40 per week booked. There will be no refund of full balance monies unless the cottage is re-let. For this reason, cancellation insurance is strongly recommended..
Period of Hire Letting commences, unless otherwise notified, at 4.00pm on the day of arrival and terminates at 10.00am on the day of departure. This is to allow time for the property to be prepared for you. Lets are on a weekly basis, normally Saturday to Saturday. Short term lets are available in the quieter months. The cottage is only let for holiday purposes to the persons named on the booking form.
Number of Persons The number of persons occupying the property shall not exceed the maximum number stated for each cottage. Subletting is strictly prohibited.
Care of the cottage Visitors shall take all reasonable care of the cottage and its furniture, pictures and effects and leave them in the same state of repair and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning. This is a condition of the let.
Breakages or damage Visitors are legally bound to reimburse South Littleton Holiday Cottages for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs should this be required. The Hirer is responsible for the condition of the property and it’s contents during the period of the hire and will be required to make good any damage or loss.
Replacement Items These will be charged at cost and the person held responsible will be the person named on the booking form. Please notify us immediately if breakages or damage occur.
Services All linen and towels are provided and if staying for a 2 week period or more, a change of towels and linen will be available. Electricity and logs for the wood burning stove are included in the tariff during the summer months. During the winter months, an extra charge will be made for electricity and logs. The first £10 per week of electricity will be included and the first basket of logs. Thereafter, electricity will be charged after taking a meter reading and extra logs will be charged at £10 per basket.
The cottages are strictly No Smoking
Pets One well behaved dog may be accepted at the discretion of South Littleton and there will be a charge of £20 per week.
Right of Entry We reserve the right to enter at any reasonable time for the purpose of inspection or to carry out necessary repairs and maintenance.
Injury Loss or Damage The owners do not accept responsibility if any injury, loss or damage is caused by the Hirer’s own fault.
Property Becomes Unavailable If the cottage becomes unavailable or unusable for any reason prior to the date of your booking, you will be reimbursed for any monies paid.
